Today my lovely boyfriend took me to the cinema to see Where the While Things Are (:
I've been waiting to see it for ages & it was absolutely brilliant, every second of it.
y'know when something is so perfect, as if it came right out of yourself, that it makes you just ache.
There were a lot of kids there, but I definitely wouldn't call it a kids' film. It's intense & incredibly emotional. But also amazingly clever how the writers and director have managed to turn a simple, but beautiful, children's picture book into this deep, emotional story about a lonely, angry child & the way he see the world, & ultimately how he comes to understand how his behaviour effects the people he loves, like his mother, through watching Carol.
It was weird too, but in a good way, & kind of in a scary way, like when Carol breaks off Douglas' arm.
I need to watch it again, to take everything in properly. I could have watched it again right after it finished (: But I guess I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD!

Today I have had a lovely day;
I finished my english coursework
had a nice, long bath
moved the lamp in my room to a better place
had my first glass of Bailey's of the season
decorated the christmas tree
made a very pretty rose out of a piece of silver ribbon
walked the dog
and last night I had a nice, funny dream about making custard for my boyfriend (:

I'd rather be a jerk and lay around
I've just finally finished sorting out all the music on my laptop; feels good (:
.. even though I ought to be doing my buddhism essay or art coursework :/
